JIMMY

Jimmy is all boy! His personality resembles that of a hyper-active child that never quite fits in. He is referred to, quite affectionately, as "The Nut" or "Jimmy the Jerk". This nickname is due to his "teenage boy" attitude-a hormone filled show-off! Jimmy just recently hit the age of sexual maturity, and like so many captive capuchins, he became more aggressive.

Jimmy arrived at Jungle Friends back in March of '97 at 1 1/2 years of age. Jimmy was first purchased as a pet and when his "owners" became fearful of him, he was then sold to animal trainers to be in a major motion picture, however, stardom was not in the cards for Mr. Jimmy. His trainers quickly realized this and decided that Jimmy would be much happier at Jungle Friends simply being the nut that he is. He is a "nut" and exhibits very unnatural behaviors. Most other monkeys become easily aggravated or annoyed by his "talents". It took Connie, a tufted capuchin, to train Jimmy how to be social, most times a monkey can learn better behavior from another monkey! Jimmy is quite famous for his games of catch. Anything will do, even food when a ball is not readily available and if there isn't anyone around to play catch with, it's not a problem, and he'll just play catch with himself! Hold onto your hats when you walk under Jimmy's run, he will grab your hat so fast your head will spin, it is quite a trick getting it back. This is one of Jimmy's favorite games!
