Zima is a 4-year-old common marmoset who arrived at Jungle Friends on August 11, 2007 with two other marmosets - they were all retired from laboratory research. About a year ago Zima was in a fight with her sister, which left her with some battle wounds, a scar on her lip and a shortened tail.
When Zima arrived she was very shy. We introduced Zima with Miko, a timid black-tufted ear marmoset who was a victim of the exotic pet trade. After a bit of time, the two ‘love monkeys’ overcame their shyness and shared some intimate moments. These two are a perfect match!
Zima enjoys exploring her new spacious habitat and rarely sits still unless napping. She loves to spend time watching the excitement of all of her new-found friends playing. Miko is very happy to have such a wonderful companion in Zima!
